We were interested in receiving applications that would have a direct impact on staff working at Leeds Teaching Hospitals by the end of December 2025. Applicants were asked to identify an issue around workforce wellbeing, substantiate this with data/evidence and identify creative solutions. Proposals that demonstrated the potential for wider implementation across several specialties, staff groups and/or Clinical Service Units were welcomed. Applicants were asked to demonstrate how the funding would provide opportunities for development, and be sustainable beyond the end of the funding. Overview: We received a total of 23 applications for the Q2 Workforce Wellbeing Funding Call. In November 2024, a total of 12 applications were approved by the Small Grants Panel totaling £18,053.57 with the potential to impact directly and indirectly 2,069,632 beneficiaries including patients, families, and staff. The funding awarded supported one of the Funding Priorities, Health, and Wellbeing. The projects align with five different impact areas of focus: Health Inequalities - Care of Older People, Paediatric Care, Cancer Care, Mental Health, and Treatment of Rare Conditions. All projects approved as part of the Q2 Workforce Wellbeing Funding Call will be completed by the end of December 2025 23 applications received across 15 Clinical Service Units Approved Applications: Health & Wellbeing Respiratory Support Unit Staff Support Regular meetings and check-ins for staff to voice how they are feeling and any issues that they would like to discuss. Awarded: £336.00CSU: Radiology Unplug and Recharge Project – Paediatric Research Staff Resources to encourage Paediatric Research Staff to take regular screen breaks to support wellbeing. Awarded: £252.99 CSU: Research and Innovation Staff health and Wellbeing week Resources to promote better health and wellbeing within staff. Including workshops and protected time.
