Novel MRI for an earlier diagnosis of motor neurone disease

A2003136

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a fatal, rapidly progressing condition that is often diagnosed too late for effective treatment. This pilot study aims to use MR Fingerprinting, a novel MRI technique that provides detailed quantitative measurements of brain tissue, to detect early changes in areas affected by MND that are not visible on conventional scans. The study will involve 10 patients with MND and 10 healthy volunteers, comparing brain imaging data to identify potential biomarkers for earlier diagnosis.
