Embedding research within the Pharmacy team

A2001577

The Medicines Management and Pharmacy Service (MMPS) will create a new research role embedded within the pharmacy team. This role would lead a small “test” project to understand whether having a dedicated pharmacy researcher can improve patient care and support staff development.

Evidence from national research shows that when NHS staff are supported to develop research skills, services become more effective, patient outcomes improve, and staff wellbeing benefits.

Through this project, MMPS hopes to build a sustainable approach to developing pharmacy research skills. This will help generate useful findings, strengthen partnerships with local organisations, and support the service to attract future research funding.
