This week is our "GREAT BIG THANK YOU", where we will be showing our gratitude to our supporters like you. Trying to reach as many people as possible, we will be calling, sending postcards , handwriting notes, sharing videos and impact stories – even our wonderful mascot Ernie is making an appearance with a very special message! Thanks to you, 232 projects were awarded funding to make the biggest impact to the people who need it most! "The play team are an amazing bunch of people. Luke was confined to one room for five days and they made his stay relaxed, fun and enjoyable." 14-year-old Luke was supported by Play Specialist Claire when his anxiety about a procedure put it at risk of cancellation. How you have supported the Play Team at Leeds Children's Hospital We couldn’t provide additional funding to the people who need it the most without the help of wonderful people like you. "Going through this has really made me realise how much we take for granted in our day-to-day life." Thanks to you, 55-year old Michelle has had the best chance of recovery following brain tumour surgery. Donations helped fund the Zeiss Convivo Pathology Suite, a life-saving piece of equipment which allows for quicker and more accurate diagnoses. How you have supported specialist equipment at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Michelle's not the only person you've helped - 1.4 million other patients, families and staff members benefitted from our grants in the last year! We just wanted to let you know we appreciate you and that you’re amazing! Our incredible volunteers committed 16,578 combined hours of support in the last 12 months. "When I was with my dad at the end of his life, I felt someone had really taken the time to think about what I might need, when I had other things to think about." Thanks to donations, we are delighted to be able to continue to fund and support the Comfort Care Packs initiative, ensuring that families of end-of-life patients across Leeds Teaching Hospitals receive essential care items during difficult times.
