A new TV campaign launched by Leeds Hospitals Charity shows how Gifts in Wills are helping to fund life-changing research at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The advert will air across ITV channels from Wednesday 1st October, reaching thousands of viewers across Yorkshire and beyond.

At the heart of the campaign is Austin, an 11-year-old boy from Leeds who lives with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a rare and life-limiting condition. Austin’s story is one of strength and hope. Thanks to the research your donations have helped fund, families like Austin’s are seeing real progress in the search for better treatments.

“When you’re told your child has a condition like Duchenne, your world changes overnight,” says Austin’s mum. “But knowing that people are leaving gifts in their Wills to fund research gives us hope. It means scientists can keep working towards better treatments, and maybe one day, a cure.”

These funds have supported early-career researchers, clinical trials, and innovations in care that are already making a difference to patients and families.
